Chiefs will be awaiting MRI results on Patrick Mahomes' right knee Friday, but one league source said that “if there's no damage, the best case would be around three weeks.” But that's best case. Worst is downright dreary for the Chiefs, their fans and the league as a whole.

This is the 200th career regular season win for Andy Reid, tying him with former Chiefs coach Marty Schottenheimer for sixth place on the NFL's all-time list. Next up is Curly Lambeau at 226.

Despite the multiple medical opinions being offered on Patrick Mahomes' knee injury tonight, the Chiefs “will not know more until the images”, per league source. MRI will reveal the extent of the damage and how much time Mahomes will miss.

Half of the game remains but the Chiefs have outrushed the Broncos 36-23 so far. Wonder what kind of odds would have been available on the Chiefs outgaining the Broncos via the run.

Oh, yes, the game. The Chiefs lead 20-6 at halftime. Their defense has turned up the heat after Denver's opening touchdown drive with six sacks, two by Alex Okafor and two by Anthony Hitchens. The Chiefs will need defensive play like this to stay afloat until Patrick Mahomes returns.

Source: Chiefs' Mahomes dislocates right kneecap

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered a right patellar (kneecap) dislocation in the second quarter of Thursday night's win over the Broncos, a source told ESPN, confirming multiple reports.

Matt Moore also worked for a time in the Dolphins' scouting department earlier this year. After being out of football last year, he was obviously planning for life after his playing career.

Matt Moore was helping coach the team at his former high school in California when the Chiefs began training camp. He arrived only late in training camp after the Chiefs lost veteran backup Chad Henne with a broken ankle. Now he's holding together the Kansas City offense

Time of possession late in first quarter: Denver 7:33, Kansas City 6:27. Number of plays: Broncos 13, Chiefs 11. Not like either of last two games for the Chiefs.

Patrick Mahomes went over 7,500 career passing yards on that drive, in his 24th game. That's faster to 7,500 than any player in NFL history.

The Chiefs answer with one of their most impressive touchdown drives of the season. After they mostly ignored the running game the past two weeks, LeSean McCoy gained 28 yards on three carries.

The Broncos' first drive of the game was the Chiefs' worst nightmare. The Chiefs couldn't get out of their own way. They came up with what looked like two third-down stops but a penalty in each instance extended the drive. Broncos then finished the drive with a touchdown. The bright spot for the Chiefs: Denver rushed six times for eight yards. LB Reggie Ragland made a stop on Denver's two-point try afterward, so the Chiefs' deficit is only 6-0.
